Time's Running Short!

Hey everyone! I’ve learned that talking about what I have to do helps me remember and organize myself, so keeping up this blog is probably a pretty good idea!

One important announcement: Do It Live Production’s final screening of original works will be Friday, May 1st! Do It Live Productions is the name my friends Jim Wolfe Jr., Robert Panico, and I work under.

The Eggman and I
So I have a fair amount to do for “Lennon”, which is the code name (not like it’s a secret or anything) for my upcoming film The Eggman and I. It’s making me a little bit nervous, because I want to screen it at the Do It Live screening. Also, of course, it’s due at the end of the semester! Once it is finished, I have to complete a press kit, a DVD, and submit it into at least 3 festivals. So once the film is done and edited, I still have work to do on it!

On Sunday, I’m planning on reshooting a scene in my apartment’s kitchen, in which I become convinced that I’m not dreaming. The lighting was poor the first time around, as well as the sound…my camera sometimes picks up some horrible hissing in the background. Not to mention, I apparently wasn’t recording any of the reverse shots that feature me. So. That will be Sunday, hopefully. Note to self: use LIGHTS, and CHECK SOUND!

The Delivery
Pretty much done! The final version, printed to tape, is due on Tuesday. I have one more clip to rotoscope (which I’ve already done 2 times before but it deleted itself…TWICE), some pretty major sound editing, and…I’m done! It’s a minute too long…but at this point I don’t think there’s much I can do. I feel that all the elements are important in my piece. I’ve trimmed as much as I could!

I have to find a UPS truck noise…I guess I’ll have to look at the CDs in Eads. I also wanted a leaves-blowing-in-the-wind sound, but can’t seem to find one…Pier seems to like the soundtrack of “doom”, but wants me to fade it out at the end, which I disagree with since the end is supposed to be hopeful. I’m not sure how Pier will feel about the title sequence…but I’m afraid if I post my “final’ version, he’ll give me a million things to change…which he has already…anyway! Almost done there.

Other Films
So we’ve been making some excellent progress on our “secret” film, which I shouldn’t disclose, because, well, it’s a secret. Some people can’t know about it yet! We want to put most/all of our effort into this film. We wanna go out with a bang!

I just received news that Robert’s project Simulacrum will be put on hold until further notice. We’re running out of time, and the film is quite demanding and ambitious. Hopefully we will come up with something to put in it’s place!

The Film Majors trailer also needs to be concentrated on. I have less than half of all the footage we need to complete it, so hopefully within this coming week that can be one of our concentrations.

Well, that seems to be all for now. Once again, the screening is May 1st, so clear your calendars!
